The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen star Tony Curran, who played the Invisible Man, has signed on for a supporting role in the upcoming remake of The Flight of the Phoenix. The 20th Century Fox action-thriller, starring Dennis Quaid, is being directed by John Moore.
The original 1965 film revolved around a plane crash in a North African sandstorm and the efforts of the crew to build a plane from the wreckage. The updated version represents a reinvention of the original with contemporary circumstances set in the Mongolian desert.
Curran will play a mechanic recovering from alcohol addiction.
